DIGITRANS provides grants of 2,000 euros for the digitization of small businesses

DIGITRANS has launched a new initiative offering grants of 2,000 euros for the digitization of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The program is designed to support up to 200 companies in Bulgaria, also providing free expert support with a total value of up to 15,000 euros. The application deadline is July 15, 2024.

Program management and funding

The DIGITRANS program is managed by the World Bank and funded by the European Commission. In Bulgaria, it is implemented in partnership with the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises and with the expert support of launchlabs Sofia.

Criteria for participation

To join the program, companies must meet the following requirements:

  • Be registered in Bulgaria at least 12 months ago.
  • To have a low level of digitization of work processes.
  • Employ between 5 and 35 full-time employees (including owners and managers).

There are no restrictions on the sector of activity, but the World Bank prefers a variety of enterprises, looking for companies that create added value.

Application procedure

Applicants have to fill an online form at program site. The form requires providing basic information about the company and the digital tools used. No special references from the NRA or accounting certificates are required.

Companies that do not have or have no more than one key digitized process at a high level will receive approval. Key processes include marketing and communications management, customer management and cash flow management. Managing processes through Excel is considered a low level of digitization.

Forms of support

The program offers three forms of support: informational, financial and comprehensive.

  1. Information support: Consultants will conduct remote conversations with a company representative before the start and at the end of the project to assess the level of digitization and offer specific guidance.
  2. Financial help: Companies will receive a subsidy of 2,000 euros for digitization, which can be used to purchase licenses or software. If the company is not sure how to use the funds, it can consult the launchlabs Sofia experts.
  3. Comprehensive support: Includes a site visit and preparation of a digital transformation plan with specific steps and implementation schedule. In addition, approved companies will have the opportunity to participate in training sessions focused on the practical applications of digital technologies.

Conclusion

The DIGITRANS program provides an opportunity for micro, small and medium-sized companies in Bulgaria to increase the level of digitization of their activities. This will not only improve their efficiency but also make them more competitive in the market. Don't miss the application deadline - July 15, 2024.
